Graphic Works
Nederlandse grafische kunstbeurs
Willem Twee, ’s-Hertogenbosch
Sunday 28 May, 10 AM – 5 PM
Lilia Scheerder is a printmaker, performance- and sound- artist, filmmaker, photographer,
organizer and Drag King. Her work revolves around the analog, the black and white, the
obsolete and the dark.
Inspiration comes from analog media, silent film, nature, the inner self and the occult. Dreams and nightmares form buildings and interiors that, complemented by natural structures, feed graphic art, drawings, installation, photography, film and performance.
‘Schimmenrijk’ (Phantom Realm) shows recent work about impressions that leave a shadow.
Lilia Scheerder thinks The Albert van Abbehuis is a very special art space and wanted to make the most out of the exhibit. So she wrote the scenario for a micro short. Last week, we recorded the film in the billiard room and garden of Albert van Abbehuis, with contributions by a diverse group of local artists.
Visitors to the exhibition will get an exclusive preview as we will show the full short with live music during the finissage on 30 April. After that we’ll close the exhibition together in a suitable manner. The finissage starts at 3 PM. We hope to see you there!

About nature, dreams and cinematography. The within and the without. About natural structures and
the aether that connects everything.

Finally, the day is here! We are going to screen ‘Living Room’ in front of a live audience.
Living Room is a visual story about loneliness, isolation and indecision. What if the walls literally close in on you? What if what is supposed to protect you consumes you?
The film tells the story of two lonely souls who rent the same room, but at different times. Once inside, they cannot get out. Slowly but gradually the walls are literally closing in around them…

In the exhibition Phantasia Scheerder takes you into a wonderful dream world. The exhibition consists largely – but not exclusively – of graphic work from the past 5 years.
Among the works are pieces that have not been shown in an exhibition before.
The strange alien landscapes full of haunting apparitions are alienating, sinister and sometimes even frightening and apocalyptic, but always contain a second layer that sees hope in what lies ahead.
During the opening Scheerder will perform as alter ego Dodevogeljongen.
An exclusive new publication will also be presented.
DayDayGay and Barreuh Records are collaborating for this fabulously dark event.
